Church Planting
Our Approach
We believe that real church-planting movements happen when the Holy Spirit is free to move in natural and uninhibited ways. We do not believe that this organic quality has to be either unorganized or undisciplined. In order to facilitate rapid growth, yet be responsible with the resources God has provided, we have developed roles, job descriptions, training modules and accountability reporting systems that focus and accelerate the church-planting efforts of emerging leaders.
It is exciting to see AFCs take root among unreached cultures, touching and transforming lives — in some cases, those who have come to Christ are playing strategic roles in the development of new communities. Strong relationships take time to build and some of our staff take jobs to help both sustain them financially as well as give them access to those they hope to reach.
The stories of life change from people in the field are encouraging, but work is often slow and difficult. Resistance to Christianity can be very high in many emerging cultures. We continue to need intercessors who will commit to pray for our staff who work in specific communities. We need prayer that God will strengthen them and open hearts and lives to the gospel. Our ability to strategically resource catalytic leaders is critical to the success of our vision!
